Mindfulness is something that has been around for a long time now, but perhaps it is finally getting the attention it should have got long ago. We are realizing the importance of finding the time for it in our daily lives and as we’re all so busy, finding ways to incorporate it in our daily routines and jobs can be the solution to that lack of time.
I encourage teachers to include mindfulness in their lessons; it can be in any kind of lesson, but particularly in language lessons works very well. It can be as simple as taking mindfulness breaks during mental breaks to regain focus and this will at the same time reinforce language skills.
The activities can include relaxation and breathing techniques, also incorporating elements of pronunciation, vocabulary comparison and structures in a natural way to help students internalize not only the messages that will keep them balanced but also reinforcing linguistic skills.
I believe that combining languages with mindfulness can be a powerful experience and should be frequently incorporated into lessons, as it has many benefits for students’ well-being and also creates a relaxed atmosphere in lessons.
In my channel you can find many free videos and resources that I have created to support teachers, students and families on my YouTube channel BILIGUAL CEREBROS. There are more than 400 videos that include resources with activities. There is a section on the channel entirely dedicated to ‘Bilingual Mindfulness’ which contains videos that can be used in lessons during these mindfulness breaks in language lessons.
Take 5 minutes of your day to stop, breathe and relax. Have a wonderful day!

I would love to share ideas about mindfulness!!
